Bayeux Cathedral, Normandy, France, consecrated in 1077 by William the Conqueror after his conquest of England.

History during the Second World War:
Bayeux was the first town to be liberated in Continental France. The town was freed on 7th June 1944 by units of the British army and served as a major Allied staging point during the Battle of Normandy.
