Crofton Pumping Station by Colin Pinchen

Crofton Pumping Station

Crofton, near Burbage in Wiltshire is home to the oldest working beam engine in the world that is in its original engine house. On a small number of dates throughout each year, the steam-powered pumping station is fired up and operational. Sunday 25th August 2019 was one of those dates, which just happened to coincide with the first steam locomotive to be officially recorded at 100mph, Flying Scotsman, to be passing by.
I have used HDR techniques and retouching to enhance the chimney smoke and remove to small telegraph wires from the top right-hand corner of the sky.
