Blackbury Camp Hill Fort by David Ross

Blackbury Camp Hill Fort

My family and I were staying at a holiday cottage a few miles from this Iron Age hill fort in Devon (sometimes called Blackbury Castle). We visited on a dull, overcast day in spring and noticed that bluebells were starting to come out. Later that week, after several sunny days, I thought I would return to see if the bluebells had emerged. Oh, wow! The ramparts and ditches of the hill fort were a sea of blue! It was amazing to see, and quite magical to experience this ancient site looking so colourful and full of life in the sunlight.
