WWII Home Guard Ammunition and fuel dumps (outlined in black) in Clumber Park, Nottinghamshire
Originally shot in 1978 or 1979, this 8443 Ektachrome infrared transparency has recently been restored and enhanced using the latest Affinity Photo software. I shot it using a Russian Zorki 4 camera with a 50mm lens from a Cessna 150 aircraft, piloted by (the late) WWII veteran Derrick Riley DSO., DFC., etc.
The dumps had originally been surrounded by ditches, and at the end of the war the fuel was tipped into the ditches and set alight. The infrared film has enhanced both the surroundings and the ditches.
