Canterbury Cathedral often described as 'England in Stone', the Cathedral's location has been a place of worship for 1,400 years, fire destroyed the original Cathedral in 1067 and rebuilding began in 1070 by the first Norman Archbishop Lanfranc. The image is taken from Butchery Lane, the properties on the right the lane have been rebuilt after extensive bomb damage in WW11.
