Downhill Castle by Glenn Miles

Downhill Castle

The ruins of Downhill Castle are situated on the north Antrim coast of N.Ireland. It was built as a mansion in the late 18th Century for Frederick Hervey the 4th Earl of Bristol popularly know as the Earl- Bishop. Much of the building was destroyed by fire in 1851 before being rebuilt in 1870. It fell into disrepair after the second world war. If you look closely you can see Comet Neowise shining over the far ruins of the castle which I was very lucky to have captured as the weather had not been good over the few days the comet was visible.
