Tiwanaku archaeological site, Bolivia.

Tiwanaku was the capital of a pre-hispanic empire located at the Titicaca basin from 550 to 1000 AD. The Stela monolith in this picture is believed to be an influential personality (ruler or priest) holding a Qero in one hand and scepter on the other.
