Dragons Heads, Wallington Hall by John Barnes

Dragons Heads, Wallington Hall

These unique statue heads are located on the lawn of Wallington Hall. In the 1700’s the Blackett family owned the hall and started a programme of restructuring. The family were substantial players in the coal trade and it is believed the dragon heads were used as ballast in one of Sir Walter Blacketts coal ships and eventually finding themselves on the lawn listed as Grade II.
