St Mary's Church, Whitby. North Yorkshire, England
Whitby is so famous and so well-visited that it can seem like an impossibility to capture something new. This image was taken from half way up the famous 199 steps. I particularly like the cheeky way the church seems to be peeking over the edge of the cliff as if not wanting to be seen! The constellation of the Plough can be seen rising in the bottom left corner of the image.
St Mary's was originally founded in the early 12th century and sits close to the historic Whitby abbey.
