Leas Lift - Folkestone, Kent

Leas Lift is Folkestone, Kents, Grade II Listed funicular railway, which during it's time carried passengers to and from the seafront. It is one of the oldest water lifts in the UK. Originally installed in 1885.

The lift operated using water and gravity, controlled from a small cabin at the top of the cliff. Due to maintenance the Leas Lift later closed until further funding can raised to repair and provide long-term function.
