Port Lockroy in Antarctica

Earlier this year I was very fortunate to visit the 7th continent - and my 7th continent! - after about 55 years of desire to reach this remote land. This photo is the historic site of Port Lockroy which was established during WWII and then established as a Post Office. It is a very important base to collect data on the effect of tourists on penquins plus the first scientific measurements of the ionosphere that led to the discovery of the hole in the ozone layer and has been designated a Historic site (HSM 61).
