Ancients Ridge by Robert Maynard

Ancients Ridge

I had a long drive of about 230 miles to reach Buxton which I was visiting for the first time. I was visiting there for two weeks to explore the mostly hills, plateaus and limestone ridges of the truly wild landscape of the National Park in the Peak District. I had a disappointing two weeks due to the poor weather conditions, but on the final morning of my last day of the trip I awoke to see a foggy morning. I grabbed my bag and tripod and hiked up the steep hill to reach the top. I saw this tower and wanted to shoot it as a simple shot. I was pleased to capture this one shot of a very moody image after a disappointing and exhausting two weeks.
