Castell Coch by Roo Williams

Castell Coch

In the drawing room of Castell Coch, a 19th century Gothic Revival castle built above the village of Tongwynlais in South Wales, can be found the three fates (Greek Moirai, Roman Parcae), the white-robed incarnations of destiny. Their number became fixed at three. Looking up at the three works of art - the first, the lady Clotho, has always fascinated me. The spinner creating the thread of life of every mortal. I wanted to capture the essence of her life's work and personify her statue to make her come alive from the stone.
