Fort Mont Louis by Sean Cameron

Fort Mont Louis

Taken on a hike down from Lac des Bouillouses, this is Fort Mont Louis in the morning light. The fortress was designed by Vauban to be inscrutable to enemy military engineers, the various layers make it impossible to gauge what defenses lie within from afar. This was observed from a nearby peak and encapsulates the essence of this vision, which remains important as the site is a functioning army base to this day - and a UNESCO world heritage site.
