The Crypt to Those Perished for the Freedom of Lithuania, Vytautas the Great War Museum, Kaunas, Lithuania

Built in 1938 in the Vytautas the Great War Museum, the Crypt was vandalised during the Soviet Occupation of Lithuania but restored in 1998 and now stands as tribute to the casualties of war. The city of Kaunas, like many old Soviet Bloc nations, is Westward leaning, but still contains many reminders of its former occupiers and the population are torn in their preferences.
